Stephen, you touch on the fact that administrators must model action research if they expect teachers to do it. Also, I agree that administrators should be proactive in trying to solve problems that arise or are foreseen. We need to focus on problem solving and the "sit and get" mentality.
I think one of our problems as educators and soon to be administrators is teacher burnout, or teachers being in a rut. Perhaps if they could do an action research project, they might possibly get revived once again and enjoy doing their job. The students will ultimately benefit from this.
